Teaching Philosophy

Melany Betsabe Tutiven Barzola
My teaching philosophy conceives the classroom as a dynamic environment where curiosity and practical learning are fundamental. I compare the class to a continuously developing garden, where each student represents a seed with unique potential. As an educator I see myself as the cultivator who provides the resources and environment conducive to these students to thrive and develop fully. I consider that each student has their own world that is unique, experiences and knowledge that only them can express, a distinctive perspective that should be valued and recognized. Today many institutions adopt a constructivist approach, which focuses on students building their own knowledge from previous information and experiences they have had. However, this approach is often implemented through methods that emphasize memorization and repetition. Although these methods may be effective for some students, others may find the process monotonous or unstimulating.
It is crucial to recognize that students have different learning styles and abilities, suggesting the need for a more diversified approach to education. I understand that education should be a preparation for real life, not an accumulation of abstract knowledge. I would adopt a strategy in which the knowledge gained in the classroom can be applied in practical ways in the outside world. Finally, all parts of the educational process should be creative. My goal is to make every day in the classroom an adventure, through artistic activities or scientific experiments, making the most complex topics accessible and interactive, I would use games, simulations and interactive dynamics. For me would be amazing that the students leave the classroom with a smile and a sense of having learned something new and valuable.

My teaching philosophy is based on the fact that as an educator I must show my students the different ways of being able to express themselves without limits and without limitations, that as students they are free to give their opinion and in this way they learn to express themselves without being afraid of making mistakes, which as Guide teacher I will be a support for them in their learning, where they are surrounded in an empathetic, creative and dynamic environment where they are owners and builders of their own learning pace in this way to see their evolution, abilities and skills that they are capable of transmitting.
For me as a teacher, create a space where my students feel safe, where they can express themselves freely and respect the individual decisions and thoughts of each one, for me as a future teacher of language pedagogy, teaching is not only based on demonstrating content and theories , but to teach them that each one has a different way of learning, that as a teacher I am here to explore or discover their abilities where they can stimulate their senses, logical thinking, communication and in this way the interest in learning a new language.
Finally, I see teaching as an opportunity to inspire a lifelong passion for learning. I want my students to see English not just as a subject to be learned, but as a window to new cultures, ideas, and opportunities. My ultimate goal as an English teacher is to inspire in my students a passion for the language that goes beyond the classroom.
